The Company

Almo Hardwood AB, Sweden

The enterprise was founded in 1950 in Österbymo in southern Östergötland by Åke Blom, the father of the current owner. Originally called Blom's Saw, it shifted toward hardwood manufacturing in the 1960s, supplying local furniture manufacturers with unedged timber. During the 1990s, production expanded to Latvia, prompting a rebrand to Almo Hardwood AB. The business has since developed into hardwood production and sales in Latvia combined with hardwood log trading in Sweden.

Almo Hardwood AS, Latvia

Almo Hardwood AS was established in the late 1990s in Aluksne in northeastern Latvia — a region with excellent raw material resources for hardwood processing. Today the facility operates a modern sawmill specialised in hardwood. We have a specially adapted saw line, a larger sorting line, kilns and a biomass heating plant. We produce sawn and planed timber, crosscut elements, planed components and edge-glued panels.
